Nots (from English Notes) is a text or color note that reflects the key features of the opponent’s style style. Let us immediately say that there are no clear rules for writing nots, every player should focus on their own needs. But there are some recommendations that are desirable to take into account.
Record really important information
Information in a text note should be short and spacious. No need to record your emotions or critical remarks to the opponent. Such records have no sense and will not help in the game.
In addition, Nots should be understood literally at one glance and read even after a long break in a game with a specific opponent.
Note "street" and position
If you mark the player and the street on which one or another action was committed, then the Nots will be more informative. Often the opponent rests only on the flop while Tern and even more so riveer knock it off the panthele. Don’t forget to mark it in your notches!
The recording time should not exceed 5–10 seconds
If you play multiple tables then notes recording time should not exceed 10 but preferably 5 seconds. In a short time you won’t lose concentration and be able to track opponents at other tables.
If the notches require time, it is better to do them after session, while dismantling the distribution. So you can notic the really important details of the opponent’s game and use them in the future.
Should not do a lot of colored notches
It is desirable that the number of color notches does not exceed 4-5 colors as a large variety of labels can cause confusion. Use one or two colors for strong opponents and as much for weak. More detailed information is best recorded in text form.

Write of text note
All the variety of text nots can be divided into two parts – shortened and full records. The full option is usually used by newcomers who already understand the importance of notes but have not yet produced their own "style".
The records look like this: "opened from an early position, made a rail from Button and did not resist "Dry" board". You can see that this option carries little information and takes a lot of time.
It is much more convenient to use a shortened recording option where all major actions and streets are marked with one or two letters. A classic example can be the following recording option.
Streets
F/T/R – FLOP, TURN, RIVER
Action
– SS, C/F/, C/R/, L/C – COLD CALL, CHECK/FOLD, CHECK/RAISE, LIMP/CALL
Salination (rate size)
1/2, 2/3, Pot, OB (Overbet)
Positions
UTG, MP, CO, BU, SB, BB
Next is a description of the situation when the opponent on the big blind will tribute us. Then puts a flop 2/3 of sweat, and the Terne check/fold will look like this: BB, 3Bet, F Bet 2/3, T C/F.
Thus, if you use a shortened recording version, even the most distinguished note will not take much time and will read easily in proper practice.
Poker is an intelligence game and to become a real professional, you need to use every opponent’s miss. Watch opponents, write down nottes and turn their weakness into your own power!
